Cheddar and Chive Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

¾ teaspoon Diamond Crystal Salt Co.® Baking Salt™

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 cup sour cream

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

¼ cup chopped fresh chives

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 425° and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in large bowl. Stir in sour cream, 2 cups cheddar cheese and chives until shaggy dough forms.

Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and fold gently 5-6 times. Roll out dough to ½-inch thickness.

Cut dough into 2-inch squares. Place biscuits 1-inch apart onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and top biscuits evenly with remaining cheddar. Bake for additional 4-5 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.

 

Tip: Serve biscuits warm with butter and your favorite variety of Diamond Crystal Salt to taste
