Pickled Red Onions

INGREDIENTS

1 Small Red onion

1 Cup White vinegar

1 Cup Water

1/4 Cup Sugar

1 Tbsp Diamond Crystal Salt Co. Kosher Salt 

 

DIRECTIONS

Peel and thinly slice the onion. Place the onions in a mason jar and set aside. 

Heat the vinegar, water, sugar, and Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar and salt is dissolved for about 1 minute.

Let cool and pour over the onions. Set aside to cool to room temperature, then cover the jar with a lid and store in the fridge.

The onions will be ready to eat in about 1 hour but its best to let pickle for 24 hours.
