Salted Caramel Coffee

INGREDIENTS

For The Syrup:

1 1/2 Cups Sugar

3 Cups Water (divided 1 1/2 cups each)

2 tsp Vanilla extract

1/2 tsp Diamond Crystal Salt Co. Kosher Salt 

For The Coffee:

2 Shots Espresso

1/3 Cup Whole milk

2 tsp Strawberry powder

1 Tbsp Salted caramel

2 Tbsp Simple syrup

Ice

Sprinkles

 

 

DIRECTIONS

For the syrup: in a medium saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and 1 1/2 cups water. Stir to dissolve sugar and until it comes to a rolling boil. Stop stirring and now let the syrup continue to boil at a rolling pace until it reduces down for about 20-35 minutes.

When the syrup is almost done, heat the remaining water in microwave or small saucepan and set aside.

As soon as the syrup turns a caramel color, remove from heat. Begin to add the hot water and stir. Add the vanilla and Diamond Crystal Kosher salt. Stir until the salt dissolves.

Let the syrup cool for about 30 minutes on the stovetop then store the cooled syrup in a sealed container in the fridge.

We suggest making a strawberry latte, by adding salted caramel to the bottom of the glass. In a separate cup mix strawberry powder and milk with a frother. Add Ice, coffee, simple syrup and strawberry milk foam on top.

Decorate with pink sprinkles if desired and sprinkle lightly with Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt.
